The

Dead Dog

Diary

Journal Prompts to help you

on your Pet Loss Journey

While some might say ‘they’re just animals' for a pet-lover, losing a furry soul-mate is one of the hardest parts of life.

From remembering the good times, to listing their funny little quirks & grieving the life changes since their passing, this journal practice will help you navigate your mourning period with 7-weeks of prompts to honor your lost loved one.

The grief of losing a pet is a unique kind of pain.

When my beloved dog Gunner died, I was thrown into a deep pit of sadness. One of the things that helped me move through it was writing to him every day in a journal jokingly called my ‘Dead Dog Diary’.

Little did I know, this practice would help keep our relationship alive even while he's on the other side and it's also helping me see the bright side of his passing.

Inspired by how much better I feel talking with him in this way, I created 7 weeks of journal prompts to help you navigate your own pet loss journey.

Why does losing a pet hurt so much?

01

they love us unconditionally

02

our relationship with them is often extremely pure & uncomplicated

03

their lives are so short & yet so special

04

society doesn't really respect grief for a lost pet

I'm sorry you're experiencing this loss - but I'm also so hopeful that you'll find comfort in writing about your beloved pet as you move through this grief portal.

My soul-dog Gunner has been one of my life's greatest teachers and losing him initiated me into a world of grief I've never felt before.

As a somatic psychedelic guide, I help people navigate the waters of grief regularly and journaling has been a huge piece of that healing puzzle. I dedicate this work to the furry love of my life, Gunner.

My wish is that The Dead Dog Diary inspires you to continue connecting with your pet - even after they've crossed over.

And you can totally use these prompts to connect with any lost pet
(I've just only had the pleasure of having dogs in my life).
